About Southern Maryland CIT

The Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) program is a community-based partnership between law enforcement, mental health professionals, and advocacy groups. Our mission is to improve the safety of law enforcement officers and individuals in crisis while ensuring that those with behavioral health needs are connected to appropriate services.

2026 Training Schedule

CIT training is a 40-hour course designed for first responders. All sessions are held at the Paul Hall Library, Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, MD.
